HGV Technician – Northampton

Day & Night Shifts Available | 4 on 4 off | Up to £49,500

We are currently seeking experienced and qualified HGV Technicians to join our team in Northampton. The Role

As an HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with repair orders and industry standards
• Maintaining a strong “right first-time” ethos to minimise rework and ensure high-quality repairs
• Collaborating with the VMU Manager to report on parts, labour, and additional repairs
• Accurately recording time spent on repairs and maintenance tasks
• Maintaining and ensuring the working capacity of tools and machines
• Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised at all times
• Working closely with your team to meet workshop objectives and targets

The Ideal Candidate

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification (Essential)
• Previous experience working on HGVs within a fleet or commercial environment
• A practical understanding of using information technology and systems to meet objectives
• Strong safety awareness and a commitment to quality repairs
• A flexible and proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable:

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• Experience with tail lifts is advantageous

Shifts & Pay

• Day Shift (4 on, 4 off): 06:00 – 18:00, £20.36 per hour (Approx. £44,582 per year)
• Night Shift (4 on, 4 off): 18:00 – 06:00, £22.69 per hour (Approx. £49,684 per year)
