The Role

We’re looking for a Head Waiter to join the front of house team at The Barley Mow, our beautifully restored Mayfair pub and dining room. Known for its elegant charm, buzzing atmosphere, and menus that champion the very best of seasonal British produce, The Barley Mow is a modern take on the classic London pub—refined, welcoming, and full of character.

As a Head Waiter, you’ll lead by example on the floor, providing exceptional service while supporting and inspiring the team. You’ll be the link between our guests and the front of house operation, ensuring every service runs seamlessly and every guest leaves feeling genuinely cared for.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional table service with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Lead by example, motivating and supporting the front of house team.
• Guide guests through the menu and drinks list, offering confident recommendations.
• Ensure every guest feels welcomed, looked after, and valued.
• Support the management team in maintaining smooth service and operational standards.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter or Senior Waiter in a premium restaurant or pub.
• A true passion for food, drink, and hospitality.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
