A veterinary service provider in Goudhurst is looking for a Head Receptionist to join their team. This full-time position involves leading reception teams to ensure excellent service for clients and their animals. Responsibilities include managing appointments, client registration, and reception team operations. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organisational skills, with some management experience, preferably in a customer service or veterinary context. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Receptionist to join our teams at Putlands and Goudhurst!
This is a Full position, working 40 hours per week across both sites.
As a Head Receptionist, you will lead our reception teams to provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. We are professional and personable teams working in a very challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting and no day is ever the same!
The role will involve receptionist duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments and providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving to the clinic as well as some other administrative duties, including debt management, being responsible for banking and End of Month processes. As Head Receptionist, you will also be responsible for managing the reception team, staff/holiday rotas and recruitment.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills as well as strong leadership skills. Experience managing teams will be highly beneficial. Previous receptionist or customer facing experience is essential. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial.
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news.
The salary for this position will be £25,400-£27,500 depending on experience (pro rata).
