A medical practice in Kilmarnock is seeking a long-term locum GP to cover maternity leave. The role involves providing normal clinical duties, including on-call responsibilities and home visits. Candidates should have experience in General Medical Services and familiarity with EMIS and Docman systems. Located just minutes from Glasgow, this permanent position offers a supportive environment with a large multidisciplinary team.
Marnock Medical Group is a long established Medical Practice which has delivered General Medical Services since 1970 to a patient population in Kilmarnock and its surrounding areas, which now sits at almost 19,000 patients. We have two sites - one based in Kilmarnock and a lovely village surgery in Kilmaurs.
One of our Salaried GPs will soon be off on maternity leave, so we are keen to engage a 6 session long term locum GP for 9-13 months to provide cover.
We are fully staffed with 8 GP Partners, 6 salaried GPs, a Group Manager, a Branch Manager, a Nurse Manager, an Admin Supervisor, an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, 3 ANPs, 2 Community ANPs (who do the majority of our home visits), 3 Practice Nurses, an HCA and a very experienced and long serving Administration Team of 24.
We also have a fantastic team of MDT staff including District Nurses, Health Visitors, 4 CTAC staff, an Advanced Physiotherapist, 2 Mental Health Practitioners, a Self Help Worker and a pharmacotherapy team of 8.
We have a weekly clinical meeting on a Monday and regular PBSGL sessions for all clinical staff.
We are also a training practice and train FY2, ST1s and ST3s.
We have a health and wellbeing group, and we regularly get out and about on various fun challenges including kilt walk, climbing Ben Nevis, weekends in Arran, cold water therapy at Loch Lomond, yoga, theatre outings and we are currently planning our next adventure!
We are an Active Practice and also a Park Run practice.
We are located just a few minutes' drive from the Grassyards Interchange off the A77, within 20 minutes' drive of the southside of Glasgow and five minutes' drive from Crosshouse Hospital.
The role will involve normal clinical duties (on call, occasional home visits, acute and repeat prescribing, Registrar tutorials, and working at our branch surgery on a rota basis). We are an EMIS and Docman practice.
