A healthcare practice in Scotland is seeking a GP Locum for maternity cover starting March 2026. The role involves providing 7 sessions per week, with a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations. Ideal candidates will have enthusiasm for patient care and be effective team players. Who we are
We are a progressive and innovative practice with 7,500 patients. Our dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team consists of 6 GPs – 3 Partners, and 3 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant, Practice Manager and a full complement of Administrative staff. We are supported within the practice by our District Nursing and Health Visiting teams, our practice‑assigned Pharmacist, Primary Care Occupational Therapist and Community Link Worker, and our Treatment Room offering onsite Phlebotomy, wound care and chronic disease monitoring. We have access to an Urgent Care Team who assist us with home visiting. We are forward‑thinking in response to the changing landscape of primary health care and we are a West of Scotland training practice welcoming GP trainees throughout the year.
Where we work
We are based in a purpose‑built Health & Social Care premises in the heart of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire. Hunter Community Health Centre, provides space for 5 GP practices, along with NHS Lanarkshire CTAC (Community Treatment & Care Services), Community Mental Health teams, Treatment Room hubs, District Nursing services, Sexual Health clinics and Midwifery clinics.
We are looking for maternity locum cover of 7 sessions per week, which may be shared across one, or 2, GP Locums. This post would be an ideal position for both experienced GPs looking to explore new ways of working, or for GPST3 candidates who will be ready to join a practice in the near future.
