THE ROLE

This role leads link building and digital PR strategy across a diverse international client portfolio, focusing on growing organic visibility, authority and traffic. The Link Building & Digital PR Lead works cross‑functionally with outreach, content, web dev and design teams, and plays a key role in shaping and growing the agency’s link and digital PR offering.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own link building and digital PR strategy for key accounts, defining KPIs, roadmaps and test plans aligned to client organic visibility and commercial objectives
  • Lead the planning and delivery of digital PR and link‑earning campaigns that secure high‑quality, relevant coverage and backlinks from authoritative publishers, journalists and partners in multiple markets
  • Partner with the outreach team to prioritise targets, refine prospecting processes and ensure outreach quality, personalisation and follow‑through at scale
  • Collaborate with the content team to brief and shape data‑led, newsworthy or creative assets (e.g. reports, tools, interactive content) that naturally attract links
  • Work with web dev and design teams to scope and deliver technically feasible, on‑brand campaign pages and interactive experiences that support link‑earning and user engagement
  • Monitor backlink profiles, coverage, rankings and traffic using SEO and analytics platforms, translating results into clear insights and optimisation plans for clients and internal teams
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key journalists, publishers, influencers and partners to create ongoing link and story opportunities
  • Support and help drive new business by contributing digital PR and link‑building insight, ideas, forecasts and case studies to pitches, RFPs and proposals
  • Take responsibility for the growth and development of the link building and digital PR service, including revenue performance, productising best practice and identifying new opportunities
  • Continuously refine processes, tooling and ways of working across outreach, content, design and dev to increase efficiency, margin and client value
  • Contribute to wider agency thought leadership by sharing campaign results, insights and viewpoints internally and externally where appropriate
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Significant agency‑side experience in digital PR and link building, managing campaigns for multiple brands, ideally including international or multi‑market work
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality editorial links and coverage from relevant, authoritative sites, evidenced by a strong portfolio of campaigns
  • Deep understanding of SEO fundamentals and how backlinks, content and technical factors combine to drive organic visibility
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, with hands‑on experience working alongside outreach, content, design and development teams on integrated campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling pitches, press releases and outreach copy, and for presenting strategies and results to clients and stakeholders
  • Commercially minded, comfortable working to revenue, growth and profitability targets and using data to inform investment and prioritisation decisions
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple clients, campaigns and deadlines in a fast‑paced, mid‑to‑large agency environment
REPORTING LINES AND COLLABORATION
  • Reports into Managing Partner of Owned Media
  • Works closely with outreach specialists, project managers, SEO consultants, content strategists and writers, designers, developers, and client services / account leads
  • 3–4 years’ agency‑side experience in digital PR/link building, managing multiple campaigns or clients simultaneously, ideally including some multi‑market work
  • Proven record of earning high‑quality editorial links and coverage from relevant, authoritative sites, evidenced by clear campaign examples/portfolio
  • Hands‑on experience planning and delivering outreach campaigns end to end: ideation, prospecting, pitching, follow‑up, reporting and optimisation
