Job description
First Contact Physiotherapist

Central Health is currently rolling out First Contact Physiotherapist services in GP surgeries across specific PCNs. This is an exciting journey to revolutionise care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions and symptoms in an NHS setting. We are recruiting existing FCPs as well as Band 6 or early Band 7 Physiotherapists who want to move into this area of service delivery.

As a First Contact Physiotherapist you will deploy your proven physiotherapy skills, make sound judgement calls, and be responsible for guiding patients through clear and effective care pathways designed to achieve the best outcomes. You will work from GP surgeries, handle a diverse caseload, collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare management team, and provide primary assessment, diagnosis and management options so patients understand their problems and treatment options.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy advanced physiotherapy clinical skills in a primary care setting
  • Self-manage and take accountability for patient care pathways
  • Communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilise IT systems for patient management and documentation
  • Provide initial assessment, diagnosis and management options
