Overview

We have an exciting new opportunity to join ARAG UK Group as a Reporting Manager on a secondment basis to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the Head of Business Controlling and Reporting (BC&R), the core responsibility of this role is to manage a team responsible for delivering timely and accurate results, driver analysis, and reporting for the ARAG UK Group, to the Executive Management Committee, the Board, Audit Committee, local regulators and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Embed great leadership and build appropriate capabilities in order to create clarity and alignment around the strategic and operational objectives, creating a culture where people want to be and do their best.
• Demonstrate team management and performance improvement experience with the ability to manage performance of team members, identifying and communicating strengths and development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a strong and effective approach to risk management and controls and ensure timely and accurate production of Solvency II reporting.
• Identify and manage response to changes in accounting regulations and influence the business as appropriate, ensuring ARAG Group is fully compliant.
• Cultivate close working relationships and provide support to the team and colleagues across ARAG UK (Actuarial, Financial Accounting & Control).
• Maintain good working relationships with auditors and external advisors as appropriate.
• Communicate effectively, both written and oral, explaining regulatory reporting concepts to employees across the business at varying levels.

Qualifications

We’d like to hear from ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified candidates with significant PQE gained in a commercial capital/regulatory role in a financial services environment and who can demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the regulatory and capital environment of applicable accounting standards (IFRS4 & 17, UK GAAP, SII). Candidates with experience gained in the insurance industry are particularly desirable.

In addition to the above, you can expect to:

• Cross‑train with other roles providing support to the wider BC&R team.
• Deliver the Capital Modelling requirements and manage any related reporting analysis requirements.
• Demonstrate project management skills to plan, prioritise and work to meet deadlines.
