Field Services Engineer – Medical IT Support

What we offer

• UK‑based Welly Garden City office‑based position.
• £35,000 p/a salary.
• 40 hours per week with some out‑of‑hours and on‑call requirements.

Travel

This role will entail travel across the UK at least weekly and may require some nights away from home.

Requirements (Table stakes)

• Be well versed in modern IT infrastructure, know your VPNs from your VMs.
• Learn fast and have strategies to gain confidence in unfamiliar domains.
• Communicate well and be comfortable and adept at tailoring your communication style to meet your audience.

• Have experience building and maintaining Windows PCs.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service.

Nice to haves

• A working knowledge of the HL7 or DICOM protocols.
• Understand PACS and RIS application workflows and configuration.
• A strong grasp of teleradiology/diagnostic imaging workflows.
• An understanding of information governance practices and processes.
• Successfully delivered user training to a range of stakeholders.
• Successfully contributed to technical projects in healthcare.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

• Deliver, set‑up and provide introduction training to a new reporting radiologist.
• Prepare multiple new PCs ready for deployment.
• Maintain a full inventory of IT stock.
• Assist on implementing a new integration with a major NHS hospital.
• Complete service desk tickets from internal users who need specialist assistance.
• Troubleshoot a technical issue and help a reporter get back to their job helping patients.
