Overview
Experienced Structural Integrity Engineer at Frazer-Nash Consultancy. You will work on asset integrity, life extension, and diagnostic strategies for ageing critical assets across industries.
Responsibilities
- Manage and extend the life of ageing critical assets, including vessels, piping and rotating equipment.
- Contribute to design/assessment using relevant codes and standards; apply FEA and fitness-for-service methods.
- Perform condition assessments, plant investigations, failure analysis and reliability studies.
- Collaborate with clients, diagnose defects, and develop strategies for individual assets and full facilities or production plants.
- Work across business lines with strong interpersonal skills; provide structured decision making and ownership.
- Mentor and support junior team members and help develop the capability of the team.
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering or equivalent (MEng, MSc or PhD).
- Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns.
- Deep technical knowledge in mechanical/structural engineering with familiarity across other disciplines.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (Abaqus, Ansys or LS-DYNA).
- Experience with codes and standards (ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6).
- Experience in a customer-facing role for project delivery and business development.
- Recognised by peers/industry as a trusted advisor in your discipline.

Location and Work Pattern
Location: Leatherhead, Bristol, Burton on Trent, Gloucester, Glasgow, Manchester or Plymouth. Working pattern: flexible hybrid – time split between the office, client sites and working from home.
