We support clients by delivering guidance on safe and efficient operation of assets across industries. Projects focus on high value, high performance and safety-critical assets, spanning substantiation of new designs to supporting life extension of critical plant.

There is an expectation to work across the business and with clients, requiring good interpersonal skills, structured decision making, problem solving, and initiative.

Frazer-Nash has a culture based on transparency, positivity, trust and community. The ideal candidate should articulate how they will contribute towards this culture.

Pre-employment screening and UK National Security Vetting clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Apply design/assessment codes and standards in mechanical/structural engineering; cover plant operation, pressure vessels, piping and rotating machinery.
  • Perform and review analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys, LS-DYNA); conduct fatigue, fracture and fitness-for-service assessments; undertake plant investigations and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver technical solutions, support business development, and drive project delivery across the full lifecycle.
  • Form and lead capable teams to meet customer requirements; mentor and support junior team members.
  • Travel to client sites and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns as required.
  • Leverage cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver high-value outcomes across industries such as power, process and chemical, turbomachinery, rail, maritime, renewable energy and O&G.
Qualifications
  • A degree in engineering or equivalent (MEng, MSc or PhD).
  • Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns.
  • Deep technical knowledge in mechanical/structural engineering with familiarity across other disciplines.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (preferably Abaqus, Ansys or LS-DYNA).
  • Experience with codes and standards (e.g., ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6).
