A healthcare organization is seeking an Estates Officer (Mechanical) to manage an efficient engineering maintenance service across the North Yorkshire and York area, including Teesside. The ideal applicant will have a background in Mechanical Engineering and experience in contract and budget management within an NHS context. This role will require leading a maintenance team and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. The location is flexible across multiple sites.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of an efficient, cost effective, Engineering maintenance and repair service to North Yorkshire and York area including Teesside for the purpose of health care.
The base for this role is optional between 3 sites

In relation to buildings structures, the post holder will also be responsible for the procurement, preparation, including feasibility studies, of designated capital schemes as the need arises.
The post holder will be required to provide technical and managerial support to the Estates Managers and Head of Estates, with specific responsibility for the effective and efficient management, procurement and control of building maintenance, design and installation criteria with respect to capital/minor works schemes and Estates condition surveys.
To provide technical advice and discussion with clients, where necessary and assist in achieving correctly prepared design requirements, to suit specific or particular needs.
Flexibility to assist/cover other Estates Officers with their responsibilities when directed by the Estates Managers and Head of Estates.
Responsible for management of the Engineering Supervisor, together with overall management of the Engineering maintenance on a day-to-day operational basis
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Engineering Planned Preventative Maintenance System, including continuous performance monitoring against NHS performance indicators, and national standards
Manage and monitor the agreed Annual Life Cycle Maintenance programme as directed by the Estates Managers and Head of Estates. Evaluate design criteria and solutions and advise Trust managers of compliance with briefing requirements/information and assimilation of same into specifications, drawings and other tender documentation
Ensure liaison and exchange of technical project related information between Hospital Managers, Specialists, non-specialists, Consultants, Contractors and suppliers to develop the project brief and design/construction compliance. Develop client's briefs and submissions using interpersonal communicative skills to formulate specific designs and specifications.
The EFM Directorate provides a support service to the Trust with the Estates department being responsible for the repair, maintenance and management of building and engineering services within the Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estates Officer (Engineering) to join our multi-disciplined Estates team.
The post holder will have a Mechanical Engineering background and will be responsible for the management of Engineering operational maintenance service in the Durham, Teesside and Forensic. This important role within our organisation will require an individual with specific detailed knowledge in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
This role will cover the Durham, Teesside and Forensic area, also at times may be asked to help Trust wide sites for periods of time as the service dictates.
