Derbyshire County Council are looking for an Enablement Support Worker to join our short‑term reablement teams in Chesterfield. Supporting clients in their own home to regain full or partial independence will be the focus of our dedicated Enablement Support Workers.

You don’t need previous care experience or qualifications as we provide structured training to support your growth in our social care careers.

  • Ambition and drive to work positively with people, promoting choice and control to encourage independence in personal care, mobility, medication, meal‑making, and working to their goal‑focused personal service plan
  • Willingness to engage with a multi‑professional team to provide wrap‑around support and enable independence in the home
  • Ability to place a person at the centre of their care
  • Driving licence and vehicle available for work

What will you be doing?

You will work as part of a multi‑professional team to provide wrap‑around support, aiming to promote independence through a therapy‑goal focused care plan. You will receive support from a Senior Enablement Support Worker for on‑the‑job queries, and from your Enablement Support Lead for supervision, professional development and training. A robust career pathway allows progression to more senior positions.

This vacancy offers 18, 24 and 30 contracted hours on a rota basis with a 6‑hour shift pattern. 18 hours works 3 days a week, 24 hours works 4 days, and 30 hours works 5 days. Opportunities for extra hours exist; the role may require unsocial hours including weekends, bank holidays and occasional night work with agreement. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer.
