A leading engineering firm in Birmingham is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to provide high-standard engineering support on continental shifts. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, executing maintenance projects, and ensuring operational reliability. Candidates must have a BTEC in Electrical Engineering and experience with heavy motorised systems. This position does not offer sponsorship, so applicants must have full leave to remain in the UK.
Electrical Maintenance Engineer x2 (Continental Shifts), Birmingham, £23.19 per hour - approx. £50,646.96 per annum. Continental 12 hour rotation, 4 on 4 off. Report to the Shift Plant Engineer. Responsibilities include supervising external contractors and service providers and ensuring safe, compliant maintenance activities.
Role purpose: Complete permits to work and risk assessments, assess risks for work undertaken; ensure safe systems of work are applied and followed; support and achieve Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance and Plant improvement initiatives, installation projects, statutory inspections, factory services and other duties to ensure plant safety, performance, improvement and operation.
Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve equipment, site, and safety issues; be a point of contact for internal customers to provide technical support; coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and external bodies; ensure critical spares are available and stock levels maintained; maintain a high standard of workmanship.
Provide a high standard of multi-skilled electrical engineering support, safely working independently or as part of a team, and support continuous improvement to reduce production losses, energy use, and waste.
