A leading utility provider is seeking a Trainee, Junior, or Project Designer for their St Neots office. This role involves producing designs and quotations for customer connections under the guidance of senior engineers. This Trainee Designer, Junior Designer or Project Designer will report to the Lead Design Engineer and will work within Connections based in our St Neots office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £42,222 (Trainee), £54,166 (Junior) and £65,241 (Project Designer) and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

You will work within a team of designers reporting to a Lead Design Engineer, producing designs, quotations and work packs for customer connections.
As the Project Designer you will be guided by the Design Policy and the Connection Charging Manual, so are expected to meet all Electricity Guaranteed Standards and safety standards.
Typically, quotations vary between £2k and £200k, but can be up to £1M and it would be expected that the post-holder will be competent to undertake this role.
The Connections Directorate designs and undertakes new and altered electricity connections within the UK Power Networks Licence area. All works are customer-driven and the design team have to manage their time to meet customer expectations and comply with Licence Conditions, Guaranteed Standards and Safety Standards.
The Project Designer is required to liaise with customers, develop new connection designs that meet the customer requirements and produce quotations and work packs.
