At RSM, we celebrate individuality, fresh thinking, flexibility, and collaboration. Our culture not only embraces change but also impacts it. We are not a one-size-fits-all firm and work hard to create an environment where our people can make a difference - to themselves, their career, their teams, and to the success of RSM and our clients.

We are looking for an Audit Assistant to join our Birmingham office. The role involves providing on-site assistance on Assurance assignments, ensuring clients receive a quality service in all aspects.

You will make an impact by:

  • Playing an active role in audit teams, supporting Supervisors and Assistant Managers, with opportunities to lead assignments
  • Benefiting from comprehensive training and study support, including ICAEW-approved development programmes and regular feedback
  • Accessing post-qualification secondments, both internal and international, based on performance
  • Contributing to team culture through regular office and regional events
  • Ensuring audit quality, liaising with clients, resolving issues, and mentoring junior staff

What we are looking for:

Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning new things, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies in everyday life and are passionate about making improvements, this role is perfect for you!

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Candidates must be ACA, ACCA or AAT part-qualified (or equivalent) with first time passes in all examinations preferred
  • To enable us to provide study support, candidates will need to have strong academics –112 UCAS points from top 3 A levels (or equivalent), as well as a degree or AAT level 4
  • Minimum 12 months consistent exposure to Audit assignments with a reputable firm
  • Willingness to show initiative and take responsibility for the completion of assignments, and to assist with managing own workload and those of staff around you to enable assignments to be delivered
  • A “can-do” attitude to working, including flexibility to work in a range of client locations across the region, and occasionally beyond, on a wide range of clients

What we can offer you:

We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That’s why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.

  • ACA Study Support
  • 25 Days Holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days)
  • Lifestyle, Health, and Wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP.
  • Access to a suite of 300+ courses on demand developed by our inhouse Talent Development team.
