Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Location - Birmingham Salary - £48,166 pa plus van and fuel card

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our Direct Works Trades Team within the Heating Directorate at GreenSquareAccord.

In this field-based role, you’ll specialise in the installation, commissioning and repair of commercial gas appliances servicing, primarily large-scale boilers, central heating systems and associated pipework. You’ll play a vital part in keeping homes and buildings safe, warm and compliant — delivering high-quality work that makes a real social impact.

You’ll report to the Operations Area Manager and work closely with our wider Heating Team, residents, contractors and internal colleagues.

What you’ll be doing
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency repairs on commercial gas boilers and heating systems
  • Installing, upgrading and commissioning complex commercial gas appliances and systems
  • Diagnosing faults quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime
  • Issuing gas safety certificates and ensuring full compliance with Gas Safety Regulations and manufacturer guidelines
  • Completing all compliance paperwork and updating job records using digital mobile technology
  • Ensuring strict adherence to health & safety policies, risk assessments and legislation
  • Occasionally assisting with domestic heating diagnostics, servicing or repairs
  • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
  • Working professionally, courteously and as part of a supportive team
What we’re looking for
  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • HTR1, CKR1, CPA1, TPCP1A, UVHW
  • Commercial Gas ACS (e.g. COCN1 or CODNCO1)
  • Gas Safe Registered
  • Proven experience in commercial gas servicing, breakdown and repair
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial gas appliances, pipework and controls
  • Experience fault-finding on modern commercial boilers
  • Full valid UK driving licence
