• Knowledge of First Aid (or a willingness to undertake training).

• Support the enforcement of byelaws in a calm, professional manner.
• Engage positively with members of the public and site users.

Job description

Salary: £25,247 pro rata / £13.09 per hour
Location: Frensham, Surrey
Contract: Casual
Working Pattern: Weekends
Hours: 15 hours per week. Based at Frensham Common, you will assist countryside ranger staff in the management of the common during weekends and bank holidays to October 2026. The working day will normally be 9:00am until 5:00pm including a 30 minute unpaid lunch.

We are looking for a practical, enthusiastic Seasonal Assistant Ranger to join the team at Frensham Common.

This is a customer-facing, outdoor role that plays an important part in helping to manage and protect the common, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors while supporting conservation and estate management activities.

Key Duties

• Maintain a visible presence around the site during busy periods, including evenings and weekends
• Assist with site and estate management and routine maintenance tasks

About You

You will ideally have:

• Experience of countryside or estate management
