Job summary

A leading pet food manufacturer is seeking a Logistics Operative to join their busy team in Crick, Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective receipt, storage, and dispatch of products while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications

  • Good standard of education; demonstrates good literacy and numerical skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report clearly in English.
  • Experience in a similar role, working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Food Hygiene Accreditation desirable.
  • Counter balance/reach truck FLT licence required.

Responsibilities

  • Supply the production departments with raw and packaging materials.
  • Locate finished goods from production areas into the warehouse.
  • Unload incoming vehicles and store materials following acceptance.
  • Pick and assemble loads ready for dispatch.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and follow health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain stock rotation principles.
  • Complete necessary documentation for FLT fleet.
  • Assist in training of new colleagues.

Overview

We are looking for a Logistics Operative to join our busy Logistics team based in Crick, Northamptonshire. The main purpose of the role is to ensure processes are followed within the warehouse to ensure products are receipted in, stored and despatched to the agreed standards and loading plans whilst keeping our colleagues safe.

  • Hourly salary of £14.50 per hour
  • Early Shift – 6am – 2pm
  • 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday
  • Paid monthly
Responsibilities
  • Supply the production departments with raw and packaging materials in order to maintain a continuous production programme
  • Locate all finished goods from production areas into the Warehouse for storage until despatch
  • Unload as and when required all incoming vehicles and rack away the materials following acceptance and GRN generation
  • Pick and assemble loads ready for dispatch. Load outgoing vehicles with finished goods as detailed on the loading despatch paperwork
  • Work in a safe manner at all times ensuring the safety of myself and colleagues. Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times and raise any health and safety concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain principles of stock rotation through FIFO technique
  • Ensure FLT fleet is fit for purpose through completing starter documentation and reporting damage to FLTs and plant damage by following the appropriate procedure.
  • Undertake training and assist with the training of other colleagues when required. Act as a buddy for new colleagues and provide guidance where necessary.
