You will manage a caseload of nutritionally vulnerable patients in community settings across Ipswich and East Suffolk, including home visits, outpatient clinics in both acute and community settings, and community hospitals. You will lead on MUST and food first initiatives and work closely with assistant practitioners to deliver this service.
We seek a passionate, evidence‑based professional who thrives in a busy environment, works well as part of a team, and can also work independently and flexibly. Excellent teamwork skills with Dietists and the wider MDT are essential.
You will benefit from being part of an integrated inpatient (Ipswich Hospital), outpatient and community service that incorporates renal, paediatrics and oncology specialisms. The Dietetic Team consists of 26 Dietitians with 8 Dietetic Support Staff providing a service to both acute and community settings alongside secretarial and administrative staff.
Regular supervision will be available, and you will have opportunities to undertake continuous professional development through work shadowing, tutorials and courses tailored to your training needs and objectives.
We will consider both Band 5 and Band 6 applications. We are a well‑recognised Department for student training in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, and you will have an active role in supporting this programme. The trust is also committed to AHP research and has recently secured resources to support it.
We are ESNEFT, providing hospital and community health services to almost one million people across East Suffolk and North Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics and patients’ own homes.

We pride ourselves on supporting staff through a wide range of training and development opportunities, flexible working options, a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro‑rated) and access to NHS discounts.
Our philosophy is that Time Matters to everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving what we do and removing delays for staff and patients. We are investing in this commitment with a partnership with the leading electronic patient record (EPR) supplier Epic, transforming life in hospital through advanced digital technology.
If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we want to hear from you.
