We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 Specialist Community Dietitian to join our Community Dietetics Team on a fixed-term, part-time basis.
Based at Bedford Hospital, the community dietetic team works closely with acute and specialist dietetic teams to provide seamless, patient-centred care.
The team has full access to remote working, with all patient records on SystmOne, allowing for flexible working arrangements. You will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to support this.
You will have access to ad hoc support and clinical supervision across the teams. We value professional development and personal interests, offering opportunities for both internal and external CPD, alongside a structured feedback programme within the department. We also take pride in supporting student dietitians from the University of Hertfordshire.
Audit and service improvement form a key part of our work, helping us meet the growing demands on our services.
This role delivers a specialist community dietetic service across North Bedfordshire, managing a complex caseload of patients in outpatient clinics, home visits, care homes, including those receiving home enteral feeding.
A key focus of the role is supporting the Food First prescribing project, improving patients\' nutritional outcomes while reducing unnecessary prescribing of oral nutritional supplements.
