Job Title: Assistant Diving Supervisor

Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth

Service Area: Asset Management, Diving Services

Hours of Work: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30-17:15

Salary: £48,000 – £50,000

About the role

We’re looking for an Assistant Dive Supervisor to support and occasionally step up into the Dive Supervisor role. You’ll play a key part in delivering reactive and planned diving and maritime operations across Portsmouth, ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally, and to the highest standards.

This is a role for someone who’s hands‑on, safety‑driven, and eager to lead when required — whether that’s overseeing a dive, coordinating documentation, or supporting the wider diving team.

About you

You’re a pro‑active, organised and collaborative Diver who communicates clearly and confidently, leading to great relationships and influence being built. Your strong professional safety experience and demonstrable technical judgement will ensure you lead with integrity, while embodying KBS Maritime’s values. As a motivated and eager Diver, you will deliver results even when having to navigate challenges – something you that pride in.

You’ll have

• A valid First Aid at Work certificate
• An in‑date ADC Supervisor Certificate
• A strong understanding of the Diving at Work Regulations 1997, ACoP L104, and HSEG 3003
• Competence in writing and reviewing dive documentation
• HSE‑approved Surface Supplied certification (minimum)
• Experience with underwater husbandry and civil engineering techniques
• Medical fitness to undertake commercial diving duties
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
• Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance
• Full UK driving licence

• HP water jetting & chainsaw certification
• RYA Level 2 Powerboat or Sea Survival
• Lift Supervisor training
