A leading multi-location UK manufacturing business is looking for a Head of HR Projects to oversee HR transformations and drive strategic change. This role demands an experienced HR leader skilled in project management, analysis, and influencing at the executive level. You'll collaborate with senior leaders, manage a portfolio of initiatives, and implement robust governance. This is a rare and high-impact opportunity to shape the future of HR within a large, fast-growing, multi-location UK manufacturing business.
As Head of HR Projects, you will be the strategic engine behind managing HR change and transformation projects —leading a complex portfolio of programmes that fundamentally improve how HR delivers value to the business. Sitting at the heart of the HR leadership agenda, you will partner closely with the Chief People Officer, HR SLT and cross functionally, turning strategy into disciplined, insight-led project management delivery.
Are you an experienced HR leader who thrives in complexity, organisation and influencing—someone who brings rigour, clarity and momentum to transformation, underpinned by strong analytics and Power BI capability. You will embed best-in-class project governance, help transform HR ways of working and ensure every initiative delivers measurable outcomes aligned to both the HR strategy and wider business goals.
To oversee, manage and support delivery of a portfolio of strategic HR transformation initiatives, setting and embedding robust project governance and data-driven insight to enable confident decision-making at HR SLT and Executive level—while ensuring delivery of tangible improvements in efficiency, engagement, capability and cost control.
Lead the project management of multiple, complex HR change and transformation programmes, ensuring on-time outcomes, benefit realisation and cost savings are achieved.
Partner with the CPO and senior HR leaders to shape, prioritise and govern the most impactful initiatives across the HR agenda.
Own the HR strategic framework and roadmap, providing a clear, joined-up and prioritised programme view.
Track progress, update and delivery of programmes aligned to the People Plan.
Own end-to-end project management across the full lifecycle—from business case through to implementation and outcome delivery.
Establish and embed HR PMO standards, governance frameworks and disciplined ways of working across all HR functions.
Manage project P&L, financial viability, benefits tracking and budget control across the HR portfolio.
Working with HR SLT secure and manage resources, balancing capacity and conflicting priorities across a demanding change agenda.
Identify and raise risks, issues and dependencies across programme to HR SLT
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPIs and metrics to track HR performance, programme progress and value delivery.
Develop robust reporting road maps, frameworks and data capture methods to provide timely, actionable insight.
Translate complex HR and business data into clear, compelling narratives for HR SLT and Executive decision-making.
Deep understanding of HR change and transformation methodologies, including organisational design and operating model change.
Strong knowledge across core HR disciplines and how they integrate within wider business strategy.
Expertise in project/programme governance, PMO design and delivery frameworks.
Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control and ROI.
Working knowledge of HRIS platforms, system development life-cycles and data governance.
Sound understanding of UK employment legislation relevant to HR change.
Analytical capability, with Power BI skills and experience producing executive-level insight.
Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence operating at C-suite level.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including managing project P&L and cost-saving initiatives.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, able to lead workshops, strategy sessions and decision forums.
Highly organised, resilient and effective in fast-paced, high-change environments.
7+ years’ experience in Senior HR role (including change, transformation or programme management roles).
Proven track record delivering measurable outcomes—cost savings, efficiency gains and engagement improvements.
Experience working closely with HR SLT and Executive teams.
Background in Project Management , organisational restructures, process redesign and HRIS-related change.
Demonstrated success using data and insight.
Experience operating within large, complex or multi-site environments.
This is not a traditional HR project management role. This is a strategic HR leadership position with real influence, visibility and scope.
