Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Wirer for electrical assembly and testing. Ideal candidates will have expertise in wiring practices, possess IPC-620 certification, and have previous experience in regulated environments. The role includes assembling components, maintaining documentation, and compliance with quality standards. Candidates must be British nationals due to security vetting requirements. This position may involve shift work and overtime depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Wirer in a similarly regulated environment.
• Familiar with MOD, IPC-620, or DEF-STAN wiring practices.
• Able to work with tight tolerances and detailed electrical instructions.
• Competent in the use of hand tools and work documentation.
• Capable of working individually or as part of a modular team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and 5S practices.

Responsibilities

• Wire and assemble electrical components as per engineering drawings.
• Install cable looms and harnesses as required.
• Carry out termination work in line with standards.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical layout drawings.
• Perform functional, continuity, and insulation testing of assemblies.
• Maintain documentation and comply with quality assurance.
• Work to IPC620 and internal build standards.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety protocols.
