A supportive accommodation provider in Cambridge is seeking a Maintenance Operative to manage the upkeep of their facilities. This hands-on role involves performing repairs, maintenance, and compliance checks while working independently and with others. The ideal candidate will have practical maintenance skills, a positive attitude, and a clean UK driving licence. Training will be provided, and the closing date for applications is 20th February 2026.
Are you practical, hands‑on, and quietly proud of a job done properly?
Do you notice when things aren’t quite right — and actually fix them?
Do you believe that safe, warm, well‑maintained buildings matter, especially for people rebuilding their lives?
Then this might just be your next job.
At Jimmy’s Cambridge, we provide gold‑standard accommodation and 24/7 wrap‑around support for people experiencing homelessness. Our buildings are more than bricks and mortar — they are homes, workplaces, and spaces of safety and dignity. We’re now looking for a Maintenance Operative to help us keep them that way.
This is a key role within our Operations team. You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of our sites across Cambridge, working both independently and alongside colleagues and contractors. From reactive repairs to planned maintenance, furniture builds to compliance checks — no two days will be the same.
You will be an experienced and practical maintenance professional with a positive, can‑do attitude. You’ll be organised, reliable, and comfortable managing your own workload, while also working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors.
You’ll share Jimmy’s values, understand the importance of professional boundaries, and be willing to be hands‑on to get the job done. A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
Training and development will be provided, tailored to the needs of the successful candidate – but there is an expectation that you will already be experienced and skilled in maintenance.
