Job description

Location: UK Field Based role (up to weekly national travel as required)

About the Role

As ADVANZ PHARMA continues to strengthen its position as the partner of choice for specialty, hospital, and rare disease medicines, we have an exciting opportunity for a National Hospital Manager.

The hospitals business at ADVANZ PHARMA is a growing sector, evolving from a straight generics operation to a portfolio that now includes complicated generics, biosimilars, and branded tenders. The team manages multiple tender types—including standard, biosimilar, and transitional tenders—and works in close collaboration with supply chain, quality, and commercial support teams. This a fast-paced environment with significant growth potential.

The National Hospital Manager role is commercially focused, responsible for managing hospital relationships across the UK, including devolved nations. You will proactively engage with hospitals following tender wins to ensure products are set up on their systems and orders are initiated as expected. You will monitor demand, follow up where necessary, and drive private business opportunities, while collaborating closely with the commercial support team in Mumbai to optimize stock movement.

This is a field based role with expectation to engage with senior hospital procurement contacts remotely and in person. You will be the face of ADVANZ PHARMA for hospitals across the UK and play a key role in driving the success of our hospital business.

What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver sales versus budget across the hospital portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior procurement contacts at hospital trusts and regional procurement.
  • Proactively follow up post-tender to ensure hospitals have products set up on their systems and orders switch over as expected.
  • Manage tender obligations and ensure rapid uptake of new tenders while maintaining existing tender lines.
  • Drive private business and capitalize on stock availability opportunities.
  • Collaborate daily with the commercial support team in Mumbai to ensure stock is moved to the right locations.
  • Attend monthly S&OP meetings for hospital products and represent the hospital team with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide monthly reporting highlighting risks, opportunities, and market intelligence.
  • Support new product launches and portfolio growth initiatives, tracking horizon scanning and tender alignment.
  • Work collaboratively with supply chain, quality, and commercial support teams to deliver business objectives.

You will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, embracing challenge and change with a growth mindset, demonstrating ADVANZ PHARMA’s core values of Entrepreneurship, Speed, and Integrity, and fostering a “One Team” spirit across all business functions.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated professional with proven commercial hospital business management experience. You are passionate about making a meaningful difference to patients’ lives and have the ability to establish credibility with senior procurement contacts.

Qualifications:
  • Science or Medical degree desirable
  • ABPI qualification (desirable but not required)
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Experience managing a commercial hospital business, including NHS and private providers.
  • Strong understanding of tender processes and obligations; experience with biosimilars and generics is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships, influencing, and negotiating at trust level.
  • Business acumen and commercial judgment, including driving new business opportunities.
  • Experience working in field-based commercial roles
  • Project management skills, including delivery on time and within budget.
  • Competent in Excel, Word, MS Teams, and planning platforms (e.g., Anaplan).
  • Strong collaboration, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and higher-level engagement capability, with ability to navigate complex cross-functional environments.
