Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations serving high-performance motorsport customers. This hands-on role will manage a small on-site team, ensuring production excellence, efficiency, and quality while maintaining strong relationships with demanding motorsport clients. Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage a small on-site team to deliver high-quality products on time and to specification.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
- Maintain and improve operational processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Collaborate closely with motorsport clients, understanding their requirements and ensuring exceptional service.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all operations.
- Monitor key performance metrics, identify operational risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Support the introduction of new products, technologies, and processes to meet customer demands.
- Manage supplier relationships and coordinate with purchasing and logistics teams as required.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
- Prepare operational reports and present updates to senior management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing operations management, ideally in motorsport, automotive, or high-precision engineering.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a small, on-site team.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, process optimisation, and quality management systems.
- Experience managing client relationships in high-pressure, high-performance environments.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Ability to work on-site and adapt to the fast-paced demands of motorsport production schedules.
- Experience with CNC machining, assembly, or motorsport component production.
- Familiarity with motorsport industry standards and expectations.
- Lean Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement qualifications.
