Overview

Are you a dedicated Operations Team Leader with a strong commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in manufacturing? We are looking for an Operations Team Leader to join our quality management team at a world-class manufacturing site, renowned for its high-performance diesel and gas engines.

  • Shift allowance of 25% payrate increase after 22:00
  • Weekend overtime available in peak times starting from 25%+

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Shift Manager, lead and coach a team of quality professionals (5–10 inspectors, increasing in peak times).
  • Organise and lead hour-to-hour function of designated projects within related G&P areas in collaboration with management.
  • Lead and coach the team to ensure inspections align with the Test Plan / WES; ensure tooling, material flow, PPE and understanding are in place.
  • Control NOK parts found during projects; ensure correct packaging and stacking of parts.
  • Work with the area supervisor to identify and promptly resolve issues with minimal or no impact to production.
  • Carry out inspection duties alongside the team as required.
The ideal operations team leader will have the following experience
  • Proven leadership skills gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to resolve issues promptly in a professional manner
  • Organised, resilient, with the ability to think outside the box
Nice To Have
  • Previous experience using SAP
  • Knowledge of writing work instructions
