Job Description

Our office in London close to Waterloo Station is undertaking new projects with some of London’s most prestigious and well-respected architecture firms and clients. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Facade Access Design Engineer to join our close-knit team, reporting to our Regional Manager in London.

This role will suit a highly organised, proactive and enthusiastic individual with knowledge and experience designing plans to help ensure buildings are maintained for the life of their structure.

About the Role

The role includes:

1. Carry out design engineering for façade access and maintenance consultancy.
2. Have a thorough understanding of prominent civil/architectural projects from conceptual stages through to construction, using CAD software to develop safe and effective solutions to maintenance & cleaning.
3. Provide guidance and advice to the architectural teams on appropriate access strategies and proposals.
4. Develop and edit calculations, drawings, and other documents and use analysis tools.
5. Advise on appropriate facade access engineering solutions to both simple and complex projects nationally and internationally.
6. Analyse designs and their facade access requirements including considering compliance with applicable legislation and codes.
7. Develop guidance material on good practice principles and strategic hierarchy of systems available.

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structures), Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
2. Must be experienced in façade access design and reviewing of drawing submissions.
3. Familiar with relevant local codes and standards related to façade access.
4. Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
5. Proactive, demonstrate initiative, focus and a strong commitment to your profession.
6. Able to work independently with some supervision where required.
7. High proficiency in MS Office.
