About the Role
Archaeological Research Services Ltd needs archaeological scientists/surveyors to join our Specialist Services team as Scientific Officers and Senior Scientific Officers. The role will be based at our Bakewell and Sheffield offices, with travel for surveys, site visits and training as appropriate. A full UK driving licence is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Collect geophysical, UAV-derived, geochemical and magnetic susceptibility survey data from varied sites across the UK.
- Process, visualise and interpret the data, and produce quality technical reports.
- Deliver workload on schedule and work effectively as part of a team.
- Participate in landscape, walkover and topographical surveys, as well as other scientific and survey applications.
- Support the Kings‑Award winning Landscape Prospection Service by applying innovative, tailored approaches for clients.
Qualifications
- Professional and highly motivated, with experience or specialism in one or more of geophysical surveying, drone surveying, geomatics, aerial mapping, landscape survey, landscape geochemistry or GIS.
- Strong understanding of British archaeology is helpful.
- Excellent data analysis skills within a GIS environment.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and meet deadlines.
- Possession of a valid full UK driving licence.
