A leading educational institution in Swindon seeks a Cover Supervisor to support teaching staff by managing classroom cover across various subjects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills along with a positive approach to building relationships with students and staff. The position is permanent and term-time only with a salary of £26,655 per annum.

Salary: £26, 655 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week if full-time. Monday to Friday.

We have a great opportunity to appoint a new Cover Supervisor here at Nova Hreod. Working within a small team you will play a fundamental role in supporting a mixture of planned and reactive cover requirements across a full range of subject areas.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and professional person who can effectively manage classroom behaviour, introduce and support cover work and ensure lesson outcomes are achieved in the absence of the classroom teacher across a full range of subjects. They will be able to help all students at Nova understand the value of their education; be able to facilitate a happy and productive classroom experience and be a positive role model to all students they work with. (Nova Hreod has a clear and robust behaviour policy which means that if a pupil disrupts learning, they are removed from the lesson.)
Cover Supervisors at Nova Hreod can access the same outstanding training activities and support we offer to our subject specialist teachers, and there is a great opportunity to take a full role in school life alongside the cover duties.
You will be a reliable and well-organised professional with strong communication skills, able to manage cover provision effectively and build positive relationships with Faculty Leaders, SLT and pastoral staff. You will be reflective, resilient, and open to improving systems and processes.
Experience in a school setting is advantageous, whether gained through cover supervision, teaching, mentoring or youth work, as it supports effective navigation of classroom challenges. The role may also suit qualified teachers from any discipline seeking a new professional challenge while remaining classroom-based.
