A leading international consultancy in Newcastle upon Tyne is offering a Summer Placement for talented Civil Engineering students in 2026. This role provides an excellent opportunity to engage in exciting construction design projects both in the UK and worldwide. Under experienced engineers, interns will conduct civil engineering design and analysis, including water flow and highways design tasks, while focusing on sustainable design principles. Candidates should be on track for a 2:1 degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have a real passion for enhancing the built environment.

Qualifications

• On track to achieve a 2:1 or above.
• Working towards a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Preferably undertaking your penultimate year of study.
• Have a passion for improving the built environment.
• Be interested in design and sustainable design principles.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out detailed civil engineering design and analysis.
• Water flow and highways design including flood risk assessments.
• Conducting hydrological assessments and road alignment design.
• Performing earthworks analysis.
