We’re delighted to offer the opportunity to join our experienced team of medical educators in a new venture with Pears Cumbria School of Medicine, a partnership between Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria.
We welcome applications for a brand new one-year post within the undergraduate education and clinical areas of Respiratory or Cardiology (please specify preference) here at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. Successful candidates will spend fifty per-cent of their time teaching the undergraduate students and fifty per-cent in clinical practice. You will design, deliver and evaluate teaching sessions for students in the form of small-group tutorials, seminars, simulation and at the bedside. During the first half of the year, you will spend time supporting students with their learning of basic sciences at the Fusehill Campus in Carlisle and planning for when students are on clinical practice in the trust. During the second half of the year you will be delivering teaching at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
We envisage the opportunity to undertake a PGCert to be available to successful candidates. If a PGCert is already held then the opportunity to undertake a PG Diploma in Medical Education can be discussed with the faculty.
