The Role
We are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Glasgow. The position will be a full-time, permanent contract and based primarily within one of our offices, with regular site visits as required. You will play a key role in managing costs, contracts, and financial control on cladding remediation, industrial new-build, and refurbishment projects, ensuring successful delivery for both BBP and our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
Carry out valuations, prepare interim applications for payment, and produce final accounts.
Assess, value, and negotiate variations and change orders.
Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to support commercial decision-making.
Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts and payments.
Support project teams with contractual and financial advice.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities and maintain accurate project records.
Contribute to business improvement by supporting best practices in cost management.
Who We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
Proficient in cost management software and MS Office.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities with a collaborative, professional approach.
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
UK driving licence and access to a business-insured vehicle preferred.
