A leading healthcare provider is seeking a part-time Children and Young Person's Occupational Therapist at Cromwell Hospital. The role requires autonomous practice in assessments and interventions for a paediatric caseload, providing support and education for families. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Occupational Therapy, HCPC registration, and prior experience with developmental challenges in children. The position calls for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and is supported by a flexible hourly rate including benefits such as a subsidised staff canteen and pension scheme.
As a Bank Children and Young Person's Occupational Therapist, you will be able to undertake all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. You will provide a client-centred and evidence-based service to a caseload of babies, children and young people under the age of 18-years-old primarily in an outpatient setting. You will receive referrals mostly from consultants, GP clinics and external routes including nurseries/schools and directly from parents and carers.
The post holder will offer assessments, interventions and parental/carer education primarily to a paediatric caseload with developmental, neurological and learning concerns and diagnoses e.g. cerebral palsy, developmental coordination disorders (DCD), sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and ADHD. You will be competent in using appropriate standardised assessments and outcome measures for this patient group and will be able to assess equipment needs.
This role offers an opportunity to actively participate in developing, growing and shaping CYP therapy services in our new purpose-built CYP therapy department by engaging with other parts of the Bupa family, referrers, local nurseries and schools, and other external agencies. The post holder will be working closely with the MDT and senior staff in the department and wider hospital.
