Job overview

We are pleased to offer a Band 6 opportunity within the babies, children and young people's Occupational Therapy team in Ysgol Y Deri special school and in our community team. The role will serve a diverse range of children and young people from 0-19 years old.

You will join our innovative, child and family focused team of community occupational therapists and work alongside our wide ranging OT-CYP service and the MDT to deliver meaningful, timely care.

The services has transformed care and enables access for parent and professional to unstreamed training and workshops. This aims to empower the child/young person and those closest to them to remove barriers to occupational performance and live their best life. You will provide assessment, diagnostic formulation and active support for children and young people and work closely with the MDT to provide timely, effective and expert care. You will also provide advice, consultation, and training to parents and local partners so confidence in leadership, clinical practice, research skills and ability to educate others will be developed within this exciting role.

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills to work as part of our team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the wider Occupational Therapy team, Multidisciplinary team, teachers and classroom staff, to ensure that children and young people receive a timely occupational therapy assessment and interventions.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and /or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
