The candidate will assist in project coordination, manage communications, and oversee logistics for events. This role demands strong organizational skills and a commitment to ending the global education crisis. It is a full-time position based in London with a hybrid working model. The successful applicant will engage with young campaigners advocating for inclusive quality education for all.
Founded 23 years ago, Theirworld has grown to become a leading global children’s charity committed to the best start in life for children and young people by ending the education crisis and unleashing the potential of the next generation.
If you care about issues like climate change, gender equality, inclusion, helping refugees and ensuring the voices of young people are represented at all levels of decision‑making, then education is the key to unlocking big change in these areas. If you want to make change happen, join us!
We believe in unlocking big change from a supportive and inclusive environment. This is why we now have an innovative 4‑day‑working‑week which sees all employees working Monday to Thursday with the office closed on most Fridays.
This is in addition to hybrid working with most staff taking at least one day a week based in the office.
At the heart of our work is our Global Youth Ambassador (GYA) programme, where we support a network of over 2000 incredible young education campaigners around the world.
The Project Assistant position will play a critical role in assisting the delivery and operations of this flagship programme. Sitting in the Youth Team, the successful candidate will have very strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational and time‑management skills, as well as enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to make a positive contribution to the team and our youth engagement work.
The GYA programme is a network of young campaigners (18‑30 years old) from across the world who are working together to campaign for the delivery of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – inclusive and equitable quality education for all – by 2030. The programme focuses on supporting networking and connections between GYAs, providing training and skills development, and facilitating exciting and impactful campaigning opportunities. We currently have a network of 2000 GYAs from more than 140 countries. It is the programme’s aim to ensure young people have the tools, knowledge, opportunity and inspiration to advocate for education.
This role may suit a recent graduate, or someone with at least a year of experience in administration or project coordination who is looking to build their experience in international youth programming and the NGO sector. The successful candidate will assist the Youth Team in the delivery of the programme, with a specific focus on a new Peace and Security project. The position will report to the Director of Youth Engagement. This role is based in our London office where we currently operate a hybrid schedule with several days per month in the office and the remainder of the time working remotely. This a full time fixed‑term role until 30th June 2027.
Please submit your CV and a cover letter tojobs@theirworld.org , including the name of the role of interest in the subject line of your email by 9am, Monday 9th February GMT.
This position is only open to applicants with the right to work in the UK.
