For over 125 years, RWE has been reliably supplying electricity. Our team of around 20,000 people is shaping the energy world of tomorrow. Today, RWE is one of the world's leading renewable energy companies. With our growth strategy we are setting the pace and investing billions of euros every year – above all in the expansion of offshore and onshore wind, solar energy and battery storage. Our diverse portfolio is perfectly complemented by our global energy trading business. With our mix of renewable and flexible generation, as well as a broad pipeline of new-build projects across all technologies and core markets, we are well positioned to meet the growing global energy demand, especially as electrification and artificial intelligence gain momentum. At the same time, we are contributing to the decarbonisation of the energy system. The reduction of our carbon emissions is in line with the 1.5°C climate goal of the Paris Agreement, and we are phasing out coal responsibly by 2030. By 2040, RWE aims to achieve net‑zero, fully embracing our purpose ‘Our energy for a sustainable life’.
