Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care two to one throughout the day, including bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding.
  • Assist with mobility, moving and handling within the home and the community, using a mobility car where required.
  • Support individuals in accessing community activities, transport to and from appointments and social events.
  • Maintain accurate records of care plans and incidents.
  • Deliver emotional support, encouraging communication and participation in daily life.
  • Work shifts that may include sleep‑in, waking night and long day shifts, with enabling hours for community access.

  • All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Contract options
  • Full time 37.5hrs per week.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for male only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.

We are an equitable, diverse and inclusive organisation. We particularly welcome and encourage disabled applicants and those from Black and Asian communities to apply for the role as they are under‑represented within the workforce.

Here at Mencap, we offer an impressive range of benefits designed to support and reward our employees. Our benefits package includes 24 days of paid holiday (excluding bank holidays, pro rata), discounts at leading high‑street retailers, access to health cash plans, interest‑free loans and many more exciting offerings.
