Play a Key Role in Supporting Our Teams Behind the Scenes

We’re looking for an organised, detail‑focused Payroll & Administration Coordinator to support the smooth, accurate, and compliant running of payroll and administrative operations at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Working as part of Medirest—the healthcare division of Compass Group—you’ll help ensure colleagues are paid correctly, time and attendance data is accurate, and essential administrative processes run efficiently. If you enjoy problem‑solving, working with data, and supporting teams in a fast‑paced environment, this role could be perfect for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll manage payroll‑related processes and provide essential administrative support across the site. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end‑to‑end payroll tasks across weekly, bi‑weekly, and monthly schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

  • Processing overtime, holiday pay, leave balances, and ensuring compliance with time‑tracking procedures.

  • Maintaining system records for new starters, leavers, promotions, and contractual changes.

  • Responding to pay queries professionally and efficiently.

  • Updating and maintaining time & attendance records, including rota or shift amendments.

  • Managing the electronic clocking‑in system, resolving anomalies, correcting exceptions, and ensuring data integrity.

  • Monitoring equipment functionality, logging faults, and arranging repairs to minimise disruptions.

  • Updating holiday balances and providing regular team and management updates.

  • Producing scheduled and ad‑hoc workforce reports for operations, finance, and management teams.

  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all payroll, HR, and data protection legislation.

  • Supporting managers with consistent application of processes and policies.

  • Carrying out general administration including letters, documentation, file management, and ad‑hoc tasks to support the wider operation.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an organised, proactive, and trustworthy individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for getting things right. Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in payroll processing and managing workforce/time & attendance data.

  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Confidence in solving problems quickly and effectively.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships across multiple teams and departments.

  • A flexible and practical approach, committed to best practice and high standards.

  • Strong IT skills and comfort using digital systems and reporting tools.
