About the role

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our Asset team based in our Guildford, UK office.

Duties
  • Lead on design strategy, ensuring creative output remains current with industry trends, technologies, and competitor’s activity
  • Lead the development and maintenance of cohesive brand visuals across all touchpoints, including the Goliath master brand, individual IPs, and multiple SKUs
  • Interpret briefs from global product design and marketing teams, translating them into clear creative direction and deliverables
  • Own design projects end-to-end, from concept through to final delivery, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with brand standards
  • Conceptualise, design, and deliver high‑quality creative assets across digital, print, social, marketing campaigns, and presentations
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, planning and monitoring timelines, budgets, and production schedules through to completion
  • Prepare and manage written briefs and approvals for external suppliers, including artwork, illustration, photography, translations, proofs, and final prints
  • Manage external partners and freelance designers, including coordinating and attending photoshoots in collaboration with marketing teams
  • Analyse supplier quotes, negotiate competitive costs, and identify value‑engineering opportunities without compromising creative or brand integrity
  • Work cross‑functionally with internal teams including marketing, product development, licensing, design, engineering, and video, ensuring alignment across regions
  • Maintain oversight of project documentation, asset libraries, and cross‑office information flow, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency
  • Drive continuous improvement through new initiatives, processes, and ways of working within the department
  • Leadership capability, including mentoring and supporting team members, setting a strong example, and acting as a credible source of guidance and advice
  • Represent the design team professionally in meetings, presentations, and occasional international travel or off‑site engagements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant qualifications in graphic design to university degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relative experience working within the creative sector
  • Minimum of 2 years’ demonstrable experience creating consumer marketing assets
  • Strong awareness of current and emerging design trends
  • Comprehensive understanding of graphic design layout and art direction
  • Strong knowledge of product photography best practice
  • High level of expertise in current graphic design software
  • Excellent understanding of contemporary production techniques
  • First‑rate written and verbal communication skills for effective project management

  • Confidence and clarity in presenting, articulating, and defending creative decisions to stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and cross‑time zone communication skills, able to collaborate seamlessly with internal teams and external partners
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain trusted working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and licensors
  • Excellent time management, planning, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage high‑volume workloads, competing deadlines, and complex production timelines
  • High attention to detail, both creatively and organisationally, including the ability to manage complex documentation and workflows accurately
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback, objectively review creative work, and continuously improve personal and team output
  • Experience working within global or multi‑market environments, including localisation and regional adaptation
  • Strong understanding of consumer brand marketing, particularly how design supports product positioning and commercial objectives
  • Familiarity with licensing and IP guidelines, especially when working with third‑party brands or character‑led products
  • Commercial awareness and sound business judgement, with the ability to assess costs, value‑engineering opportunities, and broader business impact – understanding how design decisions impact cost, margin, shelf presence, and consumer behaviour
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to consider the wider commercial, strategic, and organisational context of design and product decisions
  • Hands‑on experience in video editing and motion design (desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience and expertise with appropriate software, including, but not limited to:
    • Adobe InDesign
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • After Effects
    • Adobe Premiere
    • Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides
    • Asset management systems

  • Extensive experience and understanding of managing budgets and schedules
  • Able to work both independently and part of a team, working effectively under pressure, managing personal and team stress, conflict and pressure with a constructive and positive mindset
  • Enjoy multi‑tasking and juggling a varied workload with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude balancing the risks against advantages of different development methods and routes
  • Not afraid to speak up with recommendations and suggestions but be flexible, personable and have a good sense of humour
  • Seek and pick up responsibilities waiting to be filled
  • Ability to understand the bigger picture and prioritise workloads with comprehensive planning for self and others
  • Plan how to achieve the above maintaining a balance of business and personal goals
