Join our team at Mott MacDonald, where we are seeking an established Senior Quantity Surveyor to deliver commercial and cost management within a multidisciplinary team. In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the landscape of some of the most exciting projects in the UK.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support the successful delivery of client projects. The role focuses on effective cost management, valuation, NEC3 contract administration, and commercial leadership to ensure efficient, transparent delivery aligned with client objectives. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will drive value, manage risk, build effective stakeholder relationships, and champion commercial best practice throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Manage and administer NEC3 contracts in accordance with project and governance requirements
- Control and implement contract variations efficiently, ensuring timely and compliant agreement
- Maintain accurate cost control, monitoring, and forecasting
- Valuation of construction works as they progress on site
- Assist the Project Manager in commercial and cost matters in a proactive and diligent manner
- Continuously improve the quality and reliability of cost forecasts and budgets
- Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to achieve project objectives, KPIs, and value outcomes
- Demonstrate value for money of quotations, working with the contractor to drive best practice and value engineering
Candidate Specification
- NEC ECC accreditation and practical experience administering NEC3 ECC contracts
- Hold, or be working towards, membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent such as MRICS
- Experience working on technically complex infrastructure projects, including during construction phases
- Experience managing contract cash flow, contract governance, and change to essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience administering contracts using CEMAR
- Proven experience in cost control and valuation of works
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and PowerPoint
- Practical, hands-on experience administering NEC3 ECC and or PSC contracts
- Demonstrable experience administering contracts using Thinkproject Contracts
