A prominent acute trust in England is seeking a Specialist Grade Doctor for its Acute Medicine team at Weston General Hospital. This role involves providing leadership in patient care, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, and engaging in continuous professional development. Candidates should have significant experience in Acute and General Medicine, a full GMC registration, and relevant qualifications. An exciting opportunity to join the Acute Medicine team based at Weston General Hospital as a specialist grade doctor on a Permanent or fixed term contract. The successful applicant will work within all the Acute medicine services providing leadership by leading ward & board rounds, performing & teaching practical procedures, teaching junior medical staff and participate in Multidisciplinary meetings.
Our service is comprised of Acute Medical Unit (28 beds), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit, the medical take list (Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00), Waterside ward (13 beds), medical outliers and an Acute medicine Hot clinic twice a week.
This post will also participate in the GIM physician on call rota in a 1:11 basis.

Core: The post holder will be responsible for the assessment & continuity of patient care for medical patients within the Emergency department, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit and inpatient wards which include Medical Admissions Unit (Sandford), Waterside and medical outliers as per the department rota between each area. This involves leading both daily board & ward multidisciplinary rounds to progress the patient treatment and discharge plans.
Clinical Management: The post holder is expected to take a full role in the delivery of the Trust wide agenda for Governance. The Trust believes in an open learning environment with clear risk management strategy that allows innovation and improvement in care whilst placing patient safety at the centre of our values. The post holder will take an active part in the department/specialty strategy.
