Job summary

A local education institution is seeking a Sessional Personal Tutor to provide effective pastoral support and deliver Personal Development Curriculum sessions. This role is essential in helping students achieve their learning goals, ensuring their progress, and addressing any attendance issues. Ideal candidates will have a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and experience in post-16 education. Qualifications

Job Title: Sessional Personal Tutor

Location: Highbury Campus/North Harbour Campus/Sixth Form Campus/Arundel Campus

Salary: Actual Salary Pro Rata depending on hours, Full Time Equivalent £27,428.25 - £28,970.71 per annum

Hours of work: up to 37 Hours per week, up to 52 Weeks per year, Sessional/Variable Hours

About The Role

As a Personal Tutor here at COPC, your role will require you to work with cohorts of assigned students to ensure that every student receives effective pastoral support. You will deliver weekly Personal Development Curriculum sessions to each tutor group, following City of Portsmouth College’s Personal Development programme, whilst ensuring your students make significant progress on their courses and achieve their learning goals leading to positive and sustained destinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tailoring centrally written teaching materials for weekly sessions to reflect the main subject studied by each tutor group
  • Deliver 25 hours a week of Personal Development Curriculum sessions
  • Monitor progress of each student in allocated cohort using the EILP and Progress and Monitoring Points, paying particular attention to any gaps in relation to those in receipt of bursary, free college meals etc
  • Monitor attendance data of each student in tutorial cohort and ensure that attendance issues are challenged.
