We are seeking a dedicated Progress Destination Tutor to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with curriculum and teaching staff to ensure every student is supported to succeed on their programme and progress to a positive destination. Your work will directly contribute to improving retention, attendance and achievement across the College.

Job Title: Progess Destination Tutor, Salon Studies and Hospitality (Part Time position, 22.2 hours per week)

Full time salary£27,320-£29,783 per annum, actual salary £14,319.66-£15,616.20 per annum

What you’ll do
  • Provide high-quality pastoral guidance to help students settle into college, identify their goals, and overcome any early barriers to learning.
  • Deliver a weekly timetable of engaging Personal Development sessions on topics such as safeguarding, employability, staying safe, British values, wellbeing, and progression.
  • Work proactively with students who are at risk of disengagement—especially in the first crucial weeks to help them remain on programme and realise their potential.
  • Hold regular 1:1 non-academic tutorials, developing a strong understanding of each tutee and supporting them to complete all elements of their Study Programme.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and attitudes to learning, taking prompt and appropriate action when needed.
  • Support students and curriculum teams to secure, record and complete 30 hours of work‑related experience.
  • Use platforms such as Google Classroom to support delivery of Personal Development and employability content.
  • Liaise regularly with lecturers, parents/guardians, and internal support services to ensure a joined‑up approach to student welfare and progress.
  • Help students explore their next steps, including employment, apprenticeships, and Higher Education routes.
  • Attend parent events, welcome days, open events, and other key college activities.
  • Maintain and continually develop your own professional expertise.
What you’ll bring
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills.
  • The ability to engage groups, facilitate discussions and adapt resources to meet diverse needs.
  • Confidence in monitoring attendance and applying college processes where required.
  • A proactive, student‑centred approach with a commitment to safeguarding, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Why join us?

The chance to make a real difference to learners’ lives and future opportunities within a supportive, collaborative environment with strong links across curriculum and support teams and plenty of opportunities for professional development and progression.

If you’re motivated, caring, and ready to support students to achieve their best, we’d love to hear from you.
