A leading software company is seeking a Development & Technical Manager to provide technical leadership and modernise legacy systems into web-based platforms. You will oversee a small development team, manage cloud infrastructure, and ensure efficient and secure technology scaling. The ideal candidate has proven software development experience and strong leadership abilities. This fully remote role requires occasional travel to Scotland for important meetings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development, especially with legacy desktop technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms with hands-on experience with Azure preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers.

Responsibilities

• Define and own technical strategy for modernising legacy Windows applications.
• Provide architectural oversight and technical direction across development work.
• Line-manage a small development team and support their growth.

Skills

Proven experience in software development

Experience leading modernisation of legacy systems

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

Experience with modern web technologies and frameworks

Solid understanding of API design

Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor developers
