Job summary

A technology solutions provider based in the UK is seeking a Development & Technical Manager to provide technical leadership across software products. The role involves transitioning legacy applications to web and cloud platforms, managing a development team, and overseeing cloud infrastructure and security practices. Ideal candidates will have extensive software development experience and lead modernisation efforts, primarily within a remote work context with occasional travel to Aberdeen.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development with exposure to legacy desktop technologies.
• Experience leading the modernisation of legacy systems into web or cloud-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Solid understanding of API design and modern authentication standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and own technical strategy for modernising applications.
• Provide technical oversight and direction across all development work.
• Line-manage a small development team and support recruitment and mentoring.
• Own and manage cloud infrastructure and environments, primarily in Azure.
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical plans.
