# Imaging Department Assistant(UK Visa Sponsorship)### Job Description## Role OverviewUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and reliable Imaging Department Assistant to support the delivery of safe and efficient CT scanning services.This position is ideal for someone with previous NHS experience who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth patient flow within a busy diagnostic environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary radiology team, helping patients through their imaging journey while supporting radiographers and clinicians during examinations.### About the CT DepartmentThe CT service is equipped with nine modern scanners, with additional capacity planned, and supports a wide range of specialties including major trauma, vascular and neuro intervention, paediatrics, musculoskeletal, cardiac, and oncology services.The department manages a high volume of urgent and planned referrals, requiring strong organisation, teamwork, and attention to patient safety.### Key Responsibilities**Patient Care and Department Support*** Assist with preparing patients for CT examinations* Help maintain efficient patient flow across A&E, inpatient, and outpatient pathways* Monitor patient wellbeing and perform basic observations where required* Provide reassurance and clear communication to patients and relatives**Clinical and Technical Assistance*** Support radiographers and radiologists during CT procedures* Assist with cannulation where appropriately trained* Prepare equipment and maintain infection prevention standards* Ensure safe handling of patients within the imaging environment**Administrative and Operational Duties*** Monitor and update the Radiology Information System throughout shifts* Organise CT lists and coordinate with wards regarding inpatient attendance* Liaise with clinical teams to ensure timely imaging for urgent cases* Maintain accurate documentation in line with Trust policies**Working Pattern**This role involves a flexible shift system, including long days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
