Job summary

Mobile Library Driver / Assistant

Job code 9542 | Permanent Contract | £26,403 to £28,142 per annum pro rata (Scale E) | 33 hours per week | Hethersett and bases across Norfolk

We would like to hear from LGV Class C or C+E drivers who would like to join our mobile library team.

Do you have a Driver Qualification Card (CPC)?

We are looking for a driver to operate from our Whitegates base in Hethersett and on occasion may also be required to work from our base at East Dereham. The working days are Tuesday to Friday, however, a flexible approach is essential for this role as there may be a need to cover for other colleagues' absence from time to time.

Responsibilities
  • Check the vehicle and ensure it is well stocked.
  • Follow the route timetable for the day.
  • Serve the public, helping them choose books from the vehicle and assisting with information requests.
  • Work independently and on your own initiative.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • LGV - Class C or C+E driving licence.
  • Driver Qualification Card.
  • Category C1 licence is not acceptable for this post.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work with people.
  • GCSE level of education or equivalent, or relevant experience.
  • Flexible approach to working arrangements, including early evenings and late afternoons.
