The Role

We’re looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our Plymouth-based team. This role covers the full project lifecycle — from pre-construction, estimating and tendering, through to on-site commercial management and final accounts. You’ll be working across diverse projects in the South West, with flexible working options available.

What You\'ll Do

• Supporting pre-construction activities, including preparing cost plans, feasibility studies, and budget estimates.
• Assisting with tendering processes: preparing BOQs, analysing subcontractor quotations, and compiling tender submissions.
• Preparing, managing, and monitoring project budgets and cost plans.
• Measuring and valuing works, including preparation of interim applications and final accounts.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance.
• Supporting contract administration and compliance (JCT and NEC contracts).
• Conducting site visits and working closely with project managers and site teams.
• Providing commercial support throughout project lifecycles, from tender through to completion.
• Identifying risks and opportunities to ensure projects are delivered to programme and budget.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (preferred but not essential).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with a commercial mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and/or NEC.
• Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Relevant industry experience within construction, refurbishment, or property services.
